FROM THE DEACON:  

My Brothers in Christ,

The Third Week of Advent is upon us. My experiences this season have been very fulfilling and have also left me with the realization that there is a lot of suffering out there. The economy hasn’t been the best and there many who are doing their best just to get by. With that, work- loads increase and people find themselves doing more for less. It is an unfair situation and , in the end, our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ is what is needed to carry us through. This month will find our council discussing our path forward into the new year. We have had many successes and milestones in the first six months of the fraternal year which I would define as exemplary. Together as Brothers in Christ we have that capability of moving mountains and making a difference in the world today.

In under two weeks, we will be celebrating Christmas with our families. Please remember to keep Jesus close to your hearts and all that are in need in your prayers. Never forget our fraternity and the good work that we do.

MEETING ALERT !!!!!

OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE THIS THURSDAY

AT ALL SAINTS CHURCH IN SAINT GEORGE’S ROOM. PLEASE COME AND ATTEND. THERE IS A LOT OF GOOD STUFF GOING ON.

At this meeting we will be submitting a final report for the Tootsie Roll Drive, covering our financial status, and completing all Old Business to close out 2010.

ANNUAL DUES

The Bills for Annual Dues will be going out this month. Please remember to continue the support of your council.

BASKETBALL FREE THROW

We will be setting up the committee for the Annual Basketball Free Throw at our December Meeting.

FROM THE DEACON:  

 My Brothers in Christ,

  I cannot thank those Brother Knights enough for participating in our Annual tootsie Roll Drive and Council Fundraiser. The money is still being counted, but it looks like we hit a record! This year we had over 20 Brother Knights help out with this very important event. It is an unavoidable fact that, to survive, our council has to maintain a steady flow of income for both operational purposes and for our Acts of Charity. Beyond that, the state Charity fund needs to be replenished yearly after the writing of hundreds of thousands of dollars of grants for disabled children.

It was an invigorating sight to witness hundreds of people stopping, talking, and donating to our causes. It was an honor to wear the Council 202 colors, stand up, and say, “I am Catholic and I am Proud.”

The season of Advent is coming fast and there is so much more to do in the name of Christ Our Lord. I do want to take a moment and wish you all a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving. Enjoy this precious time with your families and never forgot that we are forever United in Christ.

FROM THE DEACON

 My Brothers in Christ,

 Our friend, chaplain, pastor, and priest Father Dennis T. Nason has passed on to the Lord. In so many ways, Father Nason has impacted our lives both individually and collectively. He was the perfect example of a priest and with that, he will be missed by hundreds, if not thousands of people. Personally, Father Nason has been a mentor to me, especially when I was journeying through the Permanent Diaconate. He has been an invaluable part of our council and our spiritual journey. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers and goes forth to receive his just reward. May he rest in peace. Goodbye my friend.

                                                      

PRO-LIFE MARCH FOR LIFE

I would like to thank all My Brother Knights who participated in the March for Life on October 02^nd at Saint John the Baptist Church. There were a total of 75 participants from Merrimack College, surrounding councils, and various groups such as Operation Rescue. We made our presence known in the service of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We are truly building up the Kingdom of God here on this earth. This is our faith, this is what we do as Knights.

Last weekend we were present at Saint James and Saint John the Baptist Churches. This weekend we will be at All Saints Church. November 16^th, we will be at the Market Baskets and street locations throughout Haverhill. We will be making a schedule at our next meeting, October 21^st at All Saints Church. Please attend the meetin g and get involved. This is an important fundraising event for the council and for disabled children.

 My Brothers in Christ,

On August 08^th, I was privileged to preside at a Memorial Service to mark the First Year Anniversary of the death of our Brother Knight Frank Euele. Frank was a Past Grand Knight of Council 202 and our Financial Secretary for many years. Frank was very special to our council and a great friend. He was generous, kind, forgiving, and lived his life as an example to others. He was and will always be a true friend, one whom I love. Please, all my Brother Knights, say a prayer for Frank and let him know that he will always be in our thoughts and in our prayers.

Our Brother Knight Eddie Hayes has passed to the Lord. A devoted Knight and member of Saint John the Baptist Church, Eddie always had a kind, gentle heart and a strong devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Rest in Peace Eddie, Rest in Peace.

We will all miss you.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE BROTHER KNIGHTS WHO CAME OUT AND SUPPORTED THE SAINT JAMES COOKOUT ON JULY 17^TH. THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME DOING THIS AT SAINT JAMES AND WE HAD OVER 75 PEOPLE ATTEND.

THANK YOU ALL WHO CAME OUT AND SUPPORTED THE COUNCIL 202 BLOOD DRIVE AT SAINT JAMES SCHOOL ON JULY 31^ST. WE COLLECTED OVER 26 PINTS OF BLOOD AND HAD MANY BROTHER KNIGHTS VOLUNTEERING THEIR TIME AND BLOOD FOR THIS SUCCESSFUL EVENT.

Saint John the Baptist Church in Haverhill, MA is having its SECOND ANNUAL DINNER DANCE at the Bradford Country Club. And this a very special year where we are celebrating our 55th Anniversary.
