HAVERHILL COUNCIL 202
Knight-Times
JULY, 2010

FROM THE DEACON:

 My Brothers in Christ,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your prayers and support in this time of need at Saint John the Baptist Church. The Unity and Fraternity demonstrated by yourselves meant a lot to the parish and myself. Without it, many of the challenges to be faced would have been all the more overwhelming. The Knights of Columbus truly is the “Steel Spine” of the Catholic Church, and what you all did was a testament to just that. It goes to show that, when the Church is in crisis, the Knights of Columbus can always be counted on to step up and defend Her.

There is still much more to be done, but there is a genuine feeling of optimism here at Saint John the Baptist and, in the end, this parish will be more stronger because this ordeal. For now, we all pray for Father Keith and the preservation of his vocation. He is where he needs to be right now and, when we see him again, a great celebration will begin as was the case with the Prodigal Son.

I ask for your continued involvement and dedication throughout the summer. There is so many great things to do and so much enjoyment to experience building up the Kingdom of God and many of these things can be done through the Knights and by the Knights.
Take Care and God Bless You.

Deacon Tom

St. John the Baptist’s ministry
devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary
will offer the Rosary every
Saturday morning at 10 AM in
the main church. Everyone is
welcome.
Coffee and light refreshments will follow in the
lower church hall. Rosaries and handouts will be
available for those who are unfamiliar with this
beautiful devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Come and pray with us.

O holy Mary, my Mistress,
Into your blessed trust and special blessing,
Into the bosom of your tender mercy,
This day, and every day of my life
And at the hour of my death,
I commend my soul and body;
To you I entrust all my hopes and
consolations,
All my trials and miseries,
My life and the end of my life,
That through thy most holy intercession
And your merits,
All my actions may be ordeClear
And disposed according to your will
And that of your Divine Son, Jesus. Amen.

Our Brother Knight Eddie Hayes has passed to the Lord. A devoted Knight and member of Saint John the Baptist Church, Eddie always had a kind, gentle heart and a strong devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ.
