June Newsletter

HAVERHILL COUNCIL 202
Knight-Times
JUNE, 2010

FROM THE DEACON:

I would like to start off by apologizing for not posting the monthly newsletter on-line. Now, I did mail it out but I forgot to put an online copy. Even though that is the case, the website was updated, so all the information was readily available. I have just been so busy that I do get absent-minded at times. I guess it happens to everyone at some point or another in their lives.

Anyhow, here we are in June!!!!! There is so much to say and so much to do. If you thought that May (the Month of Mary) was busy, wait until you see what we have in store for you: Cook-Outs, celebrations, swimming, a Membership Blitz, Dancing, Fraternity, a lot of praying, a little golf, and much much more! This is also the month where we celebrate Father’s Day. I myself, as you know, have six wonderful children, and Father’s Day is a time for me to reflect how these children of mine have grown over the years. I think back to the times we shared together (both the happy and challenging ones) that have formed all of us into what we are today: one family under God.

We as Catholic Men have that duty to raise our children in a way that is cohesive to our Catholic Social Teachings. At the same time, we are commissioned to raise them up as God-fearing individuals who will in turn make a difference in the world today. We all truly stand apart in what we say and what we do. In the end we can proudly say, “We have made a difference in the world today by living by the Faith that our parents have taught us, guided by the One True Church. In turn, we evangelize to our families and our friends with the hope that they too will follow the path to Eternal Salvation.

Fathers, Brother Knights,

Enjoy your Father’s Day. YOU DESERVE IT!!!!!

Yours in Christ,

Deacon Tom Anthony

I would like to take a moment and thank all those Brother Knights who participated in the Second Annual Bible Trivia Night at Saint John the Baptist Church. The turn out was fantastic and about $75.00 was raised for the Pro-Life Memorial Fund. The winner was the GUARDIAN ANGELS made up of Father Keith, Bill Vlahos, and several other players who gave it their all!!!!!

St. John the Baptist’s ministry
devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary
will offer the Rosary every
Saturday morning at 10 AM in
the main church. Everyone is
welcome.
Coffee and light refreshments will follow in the
lower church hall. Rosaries and handouts will be
available for those who are unfamiliar with this
beautiful devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Come and pray with us.

O holy Mary, my Mistress,
Into your blessed trust and special blessing,
Into the bosom of your tender mercy,
This day, and every day of my life
And at the hour of my death,
I commend my soul and body;
To you I entrust all my hopes and
consolations,
All my trials and miseries,
My life and the end of my life,
That through thy most holy intercession
And your merits,
All my actions may be ordered
And disposed according to your will
And that of your Divine Son, Jesus. Amen.
